The math that decides every climb
Net LP per game = winrate × LP gained − loss rate × LP lost. At 54% winrate with ±25 LP you net about +2 LP per game — a full tier is roughly 200 games. At 58% it halves to 100. Below your breakeven winrate (LP-loss ÷ (LP-gain + LP-loss)), more games means LESS LP — the climb runs backwards. The cheapest winrate you will ever buy is not queueing on your bad days.

How many games does it take to climb a full tier?
A tier is four divisions of 100 LP. At a 54% winrate with symmetric ±25 LP you net about +2 LP per game — roughly 200 games per tier. Push the winrate to 58% and it drops to about 100 games. Small winrate edges compound enormously.
What winrate do I need to climb?
Anything above your breakeven — where LP won equals LP lost. With symmetric gains that is 50%; if you gain 22 and lose 26, breakeven is 54%, which is why low-MMR accounts feel like running in sand.
Is a 52% winrate good?
Above 50% at a stable rank means you will climb — slowly. 52% with ±25 LP nets about +1 LP per game, a division per ~100 games. The ladder is designed to hold most players at 50%.
