Time Wasted on LoL

Riot doesn't publish lifetime hours — but your account level is a receipt. Levels are earned almost entirely by finishing games, so the level on your profile converts to games, and games convert to hours. Enter it and see the damage.

The math, in the open

Reaching level 30 takes about 120 games; each level after that is about 2,500 XP at roughly 200 XP per finished game — call it 12.5 games per level. Multiply by real time per game (about 35 minutes once queue, champ select and loading count) and you have your hours. Estimate, plus or minus 20% — ARAM diets and bot games bend it. Every "exact" counter online runs the same math.

Want the money number too?

Unlike hours, your lifetime spend has an official answer: log in at support.riotgames.com and search "how much money have I spent" — Riot's own tool shows your real purchase history. No third-party site can see it; anything claiming to is guessing from your skins.

Questions players ask

How accurate is this estimate?

It is a real estimate with stated math, not a database lookup: your level is a direct function of XP earned, XP comes almost entirely from finishing games, and games have a known average length. Expect about 20% error either way — bot games, ARAM-only diets and long queue times move the number. Sites that show an exact figure are doing the same math with the same error bars.

How does the level-to-hours math work?

Levels past 30 each take about 2,500 XP and a finished game pays about 200 XP, so every level is roughly 12–13 games. Reaching level 30 itself takes about 120 games. Multiply games by real time per game — about 35 minutes once queue, champ select and loading are counted — and you have your hours.

Can I see my exact hours played?

Riot does not publish a lifetime hours counter. Third-party sites estimate from the same signals available to everyone: level math like this page, or match-history APIs that only reach back a limited number of games. Every "exact" number you see online is an estimate wearing a suit.

How do I check how much money I have spent on League?

That one Riot does answer — officially. Log in at support.riotgames.com, search "how much money have I spent", and their purchase-history tool shows your real lifetime spend on your account. No third-party site can see it.

Is time spent on League actually wasted?

Only you can answer that — but the sunk hours are gone either way. The question that still pays is whether the NEXT hour is a good one: queueing sharp wins more of them. That is a measurable thing.
